    Why the app?

    GPS with the screen off

Your run is recorded with the screen locked and the phone in your pocket. In Chrome, GPS stops as soon as the screen turns off.

    Notifications

Reminders, messages from your coach and news arrive straight on your phone.

    Natural voice

Running, HIIT and round cues spoken in your phone's most natural voice.

    The same account

Sign in as on the website: your subscription, history and programs are already there.

    Install the app

What you see in Chrome on Android, step by step.

    1. 1

      Download the file

Tap “Download the app”. Chrome warns that this type of file can be harmful: tap “Download anyway”.

    2. 2

      Open the file

When the download is done, tap “Open”. The file is also in Chrome's downloads.

    3. 3

      Allow Chrome

The first time, Android blocks the install: tap “Settings”, turn on “Allow from this source” on the “Install unknown apps” screen, go back, then tap “Install”.

    4. 4

      Google Play Protect

If Play Protect shows a warning, tap “More details”, then “Install anyway”. If it offers “Scan app”, accept: the install goes on after the scan.

    5. 5

      Open SahaFit

Tap “Open” and sign in with the same account as on the website: your subscription and history come with you.

Did you have the Google Play app? Uninstall it first, or Android shows “App not installed”. You lose nothing: everything is in your account.

    On a Samsung phone

    Auto Blocker

Many recent Samsung phones come with “Auto Blocker” turned on. This Samsung protection only allows authorised sources such as the Galaxy Store and Google Play: while it is on, installing SahaFit from this site and each of its updates are blocked, and “Allow from this source” stays greyed out.

Where to find it: Settings > Security and privacy > Auto Blocker. For an app known to be safe, Samsung suggests briefly turning it off, then trying the download again.

It's your choice: Samsung recommends keeping it on for the best protection.

    After installing

Two settings so that Android never stops a run in progress.

    Battery “Unrestricted”

    Settings > Apps > SahaFit > Battery > “Unrestricted”.

On Samsung, also add SahaFit in Settings > Battery > Background usage limits > “Never sleeping apps”.

    Location and notifications

When SahaFit asks for your location, choose “While using the app”. Allow notifications too: the run in progress shows there and keeps going with the screen locked. Last, allow “Physical activity”: the phone's pedometer then counts your steps, even with the screen locked.

    Updates

When a new version is out, the app shows a message. Tap “Update”, open the downloaded file, then tap “Update”: your data stays.
